Barack Obama has several planets in Leo revealing his pride and leadership qualities. Normally when I see planets in Leo I cringe because they show how ego oriented the person is but that isn't the case here. Saturn conjunct Mercury reveals financial difficulties at times in Obama's life which is part of his karma but it also shows heavy physical thoughts or depression at certain times which last happened the end of 2005 and briefly in 2006. This man is analytical and compassionate and a stickler for details. He is well received by others but gets his hands slapped at times by his own karma which keeps him humble. If he does win I see some difficulties in about 5 yrs from now when Saturn will challenge him like it has every 7 years since he was born. Fortunately, such challenges don't last very long but they are rooted in his karma. Currently there are no blocks to his winning the presidency.

Hillary Clinton has several planets in Leo revealing her leadership ability but these are malefic planets that suggest she can be very brittle at times and would stick to her guns rather than bend which you must do politically at times. The ego runs rampant here. However, Hillary relates to the underdog with deep compassion and is quite intuitive. In June transiting Mars will conjunct her planets in Leo and normally this would be good but since these planets square her natal Venus and Mercury I feel this is going to create problems for her and she will probably step down at that time. Whereas finances have been a problem for Hillary for some time because of transiting Saturn squaring her natal Jupiter, this planet will start leaving her alone by the end of June and financial restrictions will start easing up. By the end of this year or early next yr she will be challenged when Saturn opposes her natal moon which only happens once in 28 years and is considered a difficult time. Usually the moon represents health. If she secures the democratic ticket I don't believe she can win in the General election because of the Saturn opposition to her natal moon which also squares a natal Uranus.

John McCain has Mars in Leo giving him pride but unfortunately this Mars is squaring Uranus in the birth chart. I have heard it said that he has a temper - these aspects confirm it and it hasn't gone away folks. As an astrologer I know that Mars today (May 27, 2008) is in Leo and it is transiting over his natal Mars and is squaring his birth Uranus. This tells me that something has him extremely upset and he has been upset since May 24, 2007. This aspect just gets stronger for the next couple of weeks. It could relate to money. It is interesting to note that Saturn is just starting to leave Hillary's natal planets which frees her financially but the new position of Saturn is getting ready to financially restrict McCain and will continue to do so thru September and part of October. There could be a scandal brewing that relates to money which won't blossom until late July or August which can give McCain a real headache. Saturn will oppose his birth Saturn by the end of this year which I feel will restrict him. Between now and the summer of 2009 McCain will come face to face with his karma. Time will see what happens. If he wins the Presidency it will mean even tougher times are ahead for this country.
